Pen has been active in sports since his youth, during which he swam, played for a local football club, and also competed in track and field during his schooling years.
In 2002, he was introduced to Muay Thai as a form of self-defense, and he was hooked.
A year later, Pen started competing regularly in local tournaments, and in 2007, he represented Singapore, in a tournament in Bangkok, where he fought against many other fighters from around the globe. Since then Pen has had ten professional fights in both Singapore and Thailand.
Eventually, Pen decided to hang up his boxing gloves in 2012 and pursue a career in coaching. Coaching Muay Thai has also led him to pursue further education in understanding fitness and training.
Today, he is a certified personal trainer with experience in Muay Thai, functional training, as well as strength and conditioning.
